HELPFUL INFORMATION

Frequently asked questions

From the first design visit to installation day, here are answers
to some of the questions we’re most often asked.

Where do you work?

Based just outside Haywards Heath, we work across Mid Sussex and Kent including Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Scaynes Hill, Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead, Horsham, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.

Projects further afield may also be possible depending on the size and location of the work.

What do you make?

We specialise in fitted furniture and storage designed around the available space.

Our work includes fitted wardrobes, understairs storage, eaves and alcove furniture, home offices and over-bed storage.

If you have an awkward space that isn’t covered by one of those categories, get in touch. We may still be able to design something suitable.

Is the initial consultation free?

Yes. The initial design consultation is free and gives us an opportunity to understand the space, what you need to store and the kind of finish you have in mind.

If the project looks suitable, we can then develop the design and quotation.

Do you provide a design before I order?

Yes. We’ll develop the proposed layout so you can understand what is being made before committing to the final installation.

The level of detail required will vary depending on the project.

Is everything made to measure?

Yes. Our fitted furniture is designed around the dimensions and characteristics of the individual space rather than being based on standard freestanding furniture sizes.

That is particularly useful for sloping ceilings, alcoves, chimney breasts, understairs spaces and uneven walls.

Can I choose colours and finishes?

Yes. We offer a considered selection of finishes, door styles, handles and internal configurations.

We’ll bring relevant samples to the design process so that you can see and feel materials rather than choosing entirely from a screen.

Can you match existing furniture?

Sometimes. An exact match cannot always be guaranteed, particularly with older finishes, timber or painted furniture, but we can often specify something that works comfortably alongside the existing room.

How much does fitted furniture cost?

Every project is different, so the final price depends on size, internal configuration, materials, doors, hardware and installation requirements.

Our Pricing page provides starting prices and examples to help establish the likely budget before arranging a consultation.

How long does the process take?

After the design and specification have been agreed, we’ll confirm the expected manufacturing and installation timetable.

Lead times vary according to the project and current workload, so we’ll give you a realistic timescale before you place an order.

How long does installation take?

Many smaller projects can be installed within a few days. Larger or more complex installations will take longer.

Your quotation will give you an indication of the expected installation period.

Do I need to empty the room?

We need clear and safe access to the installation area.

You generally don’t need to empty an entire room, but furniture and personal belongings should be moved sufficiently far away from the working area. We’ll explain what needs to be cleared before installation.

What about sockets and electrics?

We take existing sockets and services into account when designing the furniture.

Where electrical work or alterations are required, these may need to be undertaken by an appropriately qualified tradesperson. We’ll discuss this during the design process.

Will there be much mess?

Fitted furniture installation inevitably creates some dust and disruption, but we aim to keep this controlled and leave the working area clean and tidy at the end of the installation.

Do you remove packaging and waste?

Waste arising directly from our installation will normally be removed as part of the work unless your quotation states otherwise.

Removal of existing furniture or unrelated household waste is not automatically included.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. Formwick installations are covered by our guarantee, with the applicable period and details confirmed in your order documentation.

Hardware and specialist components may also carry separate manufacturer warranties.
